Face-to-Face Readings

Updated: Sep 16, 2019

When I was first using the cards, doing face-to-face readings was almost torture. Especially if the sitter had expressed skepticism beforehand and then wouldn't ask a specific question. Their attitude was daunting and it almost seemed like I was doomed to failure from the very start. I'd start sweating (even if it was cold where we were) and hyperventilating and shaking but I pushed on through and felt like I'd escaped the executioner when it was over.

Twenty years later and with a lot of readings accomplished, I've learned to trust the cards and my ability to read them. I 've learned that Tarot and specific timing don't always go hand-in-hand. I've had enough experiences where I've heard from the sitter again and gotten an update that's very positive. This sometimes happens months or even a couple of years down the road. Now when I read, even if I've got Mz Stumpthereader sitting face-to-face in front of me, I'm not nervous and afraid anymore.

I used to see the advice to "just look at the cards, open your mouth, and start talking." I didn't heed that advice for the longest time. I thought "Oh yeah-----right! And make a really big fool of myself?!" Now, I just smile and proceed. This isn't to say I'm always right because nobody is right 100% of the time. I trust, though, that time will tell and I probably won't know the outcome. I don't worry about that, though. I know I did the best reading I could glean from the cards and that's what was required of me.

My advice to new readers is this:

Just wade on into a face-to-face reading, open your mouth, look at the cards and start talking. Yep---it really is that easy! And with time and experience, you might find that face-to-face is your favorite way to read.
